Miss Montana 1967 is chosen as Miss University of Montana and earns entry into the Miss America contest in Atlantic City this fall. UPI telephoto notes the event.
Floods threaten south central Montana with renewed force as three tornadoes spot the far southeast. Musselshell River rose over three feet in 24 hours, flooding highways around Roundup and closing U.S. Highways 12 and 87 after a 400 foot section sank from flood damage.
Partly cloudy through Tuesday with scattered showers and thundershowers. Rain chance 40 percent today and tonight. High 75, low 47. Flood fight steady as volunteers bolster an eight foot dike west of Roundup. Old car bodies used as rip rap, US 87 detour routes Billings via Lewistown Harlowton Big Timber. Tornado sightings reported near Fallon County and Baker with no damage. Residents warned of flash floods along Yellowstone tributaries.
Soviet Premier Alexei Kosygin toured New York on his first trip, wandering from 38th to 23rd Streets in the Fifth Avenue area while insulated in a limousine with police protection. He walked twice with his daughter and aides, discussing sights like Empire State Building.
Mike and Viet discuss refugee access at the U.N. session focusing on Jordan’s access to the sea. Scott and Clark shared views on a Pennsylvania taped TV radio program. Sen. Charles H. Percy says any Middle East settlement must recognize Israel’s existence and sovereignty to be lasting.
United Nations Geneva based reports show Israel and the United Arab Republic clinging to divergent aims at the General Assembly. Kosygin is to speak first with Fawzy and Eban following. Goldberg will deliver a major policy speech on Tuesday.

Tokyo reports that unnamed Japanese military experts believe China could add hydrogen bombs to its arsenal soon. They cite rapid development, the air dropped test indicating new delivery, and a Western region blast possibly Lop Nor. Officials say the test does not change Pentagon views.
County commissioners will auction public tax delinquent property Monday at 10 in Judge James D Freeborns courtroom. Chairman H J Johnson and Commissioners Si Holman and Bob Sparks will offer parcels from part city lot to 160 acres, prices from 20 to 6000 dollars. Original list contained 140 parcels valued at 37965 dollars and sales are subject to redemptions.
US pilots roared in over the weekend with near record 166 missions over North Vietnam as B52s marked their second anniversary of resuming attacks in the south. Ground clashes near Saigon, and a VC ambush of US forces north of Saigon left 28 Americans dead and 151 wounded.
