Silver Bow county nears its 2 536 700 individual quota in the Seventh War Loan drive with only two weeks left. Escaped Convict Captured After Highway Blockade
Joe Alfred Sircolumb, 31, escaped from Montana State Prison at Deer Lodge Sunday and was captured Monday near Silver Star. State and county officers coordinated a highway block, boxing him in with help from Highway Patrolmen Virgil Farrar and Al Boehme and Sheriff Lloyd Brooks deputies at Virginia City. He was questioned after being returned to Butte following a statewide alarm.
