Anaconda Collision Kills Mother and Her 3-Year-Old Son
A three-vehicle crash ten miles west of Butte on the Anaconda highway kills Patricia Macumber, 26, and her son Gregory, 3, both of Cable Road Anaconda. Calvin Macumber, 28, and their 20 month old Paul are severely injured along with Clayton Shoemaker 26 and Robert Dingle 25. Leslie Ferrell and wife and two sons escape with injuries. Police say the Macumber car collided head on with the Shoemaker Dingle car, the Ferrell car rear ended the Macumber vehicle. All three cars were demolished. The Macumbers and Dingle and Shoemaker were taken to St James hospital. Further examinations planned to assess injuries. The crash disrupted evening traffic.

Jessie Reindl a 61 year old Butte resident died in hospital after being struck by a car at Park and Montana May 28. Oscar Granberg of 2025 Redwood drove the vehicle. Coroner Rudy Sagatovic will hold an investigation to determine death cause. Mrs Reindl was employed at Independent Laundry and belonged to the Methodist Church. She leaves five children and a wide extended family. Body at White's Funeral Home.
