An estimated 7,000 miners and women will march in Butte Miners' Union day parade marking the annual holiday. More than 40 unions will be represented as the procession moves from the courthouse at 9 with sections led by policemen firemen and the Butte Mines band. After the parade crowds go to Columbia Gardens for sports and a speaking program. Saloons close and the post office operates with box delivery only. Two day holiday set since June 13 falls on Sunday. Parade marshal is James Leary with aides.

State music contest draws 50 plus players at Butte
More than 50 Montana students will compete in piano and voice today at the Butte high school auditorium as part of the sixth annual contest by the Montana Federation of Music Clubs. The event begins at 9 am and is free to the public with Miss Helen La Velle directing. The contest runs during the Montana Federation convention at the Finlen hotel led by state president Phyllis Wolfe. About 100 visitors from across the state attend, and nine junior clubs in Butte host the event. Mrs. Henry Hopkins organizes entertainment for juniors who will dine tonight at the Silver Bow club and lunch Sunday at the Y M C A.
