London hosts 67 nations for the world monetary and economic conference as France and Italy ease tensions while Japan and Great Britain show signs of a possible split, signaling a changed political backdrop for the talks.
The wheat harvest has started across rural America as farmers brace for higher prices after two ruinous seasons. Surpluses fell to historic lows while storms drought and pests kept production in check and kept prices around record lows before a hoped rebound. About 300 Legion and auxiliary members from 11 Montana cities gathered in Dillon for a one day Mining district convention. Peter E. McBride of Anaconda will lead the district Legion posts as commander and Bernice Metlen of Dillon heads the auxiliary for the coming year. Other Legion officers include Robert Julian of Sheridan vice commander Ben Foley Anaconda adjutant J A Millican Wisdom finance officer Joe C Fuller Dillon sergeant at arms and Henrietta Winyard Butte chaplain. Auxiliary officers elected Rosemary Kiley Deer Lodge vice president and Charlotte Wright Sheridan.
The Senate adopted a Bone resolution urging Secretary Woodin to ask bondholders to exchange existing government bonds for a lower interest issue titled The New Liberty Loan of 1933. The nonbinding measure cites Britain and France as successful examples and notes potential annual savings in interest charges.

Washington June 10 UP Great Britain suggests a partial installment toward the June 15 debt to the United States. The plan was informal and not final, presented to President Roosevelt by Sir Ronald Lindsay, with details to be discussed after the British cabinet meeting. The amount and form, including possible silver payment, were not specified.
The annual Montana Alberta Lions banquet closed with Walter M. McLaughlin of Billings named district governor and Havre selected for the next district meeting. Charles H.
