Basin Creek forest salvage aims to protect 120 year water source
Butte-Silver Bow County plans a five year removal of 2350 acres of dead lodgepole pines near Basin Creek reservoirs south of Butte to reduce wildfire risk and protect Basin Creek and Basin Creek treatment plant. The project involves county state and federal agencies with a 30 day public comment period on the environmental assessment through June 20.
