Fifteen crewmen are feared dead after the Swedish steamer Inger sinks following a collision with the Italian motorship Literno in a foggy English Channel near Beachy Head. Three men are rescued from a crew of eighteen. two were picked up by the Literno and one by a lifeboat. A body is recovered. The Inger was sailing from Swansea to Sweden with coal.
