A 20 year old Army private Charles Lee peered from a jail window in Ann Arbor Michigan awaiting transport to Vietnam after a Detroit street incident. He was jabbed once with a guardsman's bayonet leaving a pencil sized hole in his back as looters were watched. He and others await disposition of their cases.
Silver Bow County real estate values including lands homes and buildings show a steady rise. Assessor George D. McGrath cited Saturday the valuation figures for railroads power companies Montana holdings and other taxable properties. Total net proceeds and taxable valuations increased from last year to 1967 with figures showing higher assessments and tax bases. Gov Tim Babcock urged a meeting of Arizona New Mexico Utah and Nevada governors to seek an early solution to the copper strike now in its third week. The gathering was set for Wednesday in Salt Lake City with Arizona Gov Jack Williams and New Mexico Gov David Cargo confirmed to attend.
Mr and Mrs Frank A Landh of Butte and their two children Jolyn 5 and Lauri were hospitalized at Patroick Hospital after their newly purchased trailer exploded in Missoula while en route to Idaho. Lanch a Texaco station attendant at Mercury and Montana Streets had been driving with the family dog when a lit pipe ignited gas fumes from the stove or heating apparatus. The blast occurred around 7 am Saturday as the family slept.
