Reform School Runaway Shot and Killed
A civilian volunteer in a sheriff s posse fatally shot 16 year old Donald Bear Tusk as he and a companion fled pursuit from the Montana reform school near Ashland. The other youth, 15 year old John Findley, was captured after shots were fired into the air. The death marked the first time a run away from the state school has been killed in attempts to recapture.

One Killed Five Hurt In Head On Collision Near Billings
A head on crash on the old Hardin road near the Humble Oil turnoff killed 41 year old John Bernier of Billings and seriously injured five others. James Benish escaped with minor injuries. Mary Lou Beck Walter Lito and C R Stein were listed in critical condition. Robert Dineen and Edward Kunkel sustained internal injuries. Bernier died later at a Billings hospital.

State Opens Mental Health Service Office in Butte
