Seward Mason Dies Noted Mining and Highway Engineer
Helena July 26 Seward Mason 54 renowned mining engineer and for 20 years head of the Montana highway department testing laboratory died after weeks of illness and recent surgery. Born in Pony Montana in 1884 he studied mining at the University of Utah and held Montana mining posts until 1919 when he organized the highway lab and led it until last April. He then pursued mining and ranching at Pony. Survivors include his widow and two daughters Katherine Storey Cat Creek Montana and Emma a student at Montana State University Missoula.
