Greenport New York July 26 Harry Richman New York actor and night club owner and four guests on his cabin yacht were severely burned when an explosion as the craft left its dock. The party jumped into the water to escape flames. Suspect Roy Yont is held in Goodland Kansas on Colorado murder suspicions. The Graf Zeppelin carrying 12 scientists, a photographer and two journalists set course for a six day Arctic expedition from Leningrad. Commander Dr Hugo Eckener expects to reach Franz Josef Land within 24 hours weather permitting and plans to link with Soviet ice breaker Maligin near the bay entrance.
An unsettled weather pattern is forecast for Monday and Tuesday with rain likely in the north and east portions. The system brings scattered showers, cooler temperatures, and the chance of gusty winds in affected areas.
In Honolulu on July 26 Lieut. J C Crain of the United States Army stayed aloft for 16 hours and 38 minutes to establish a new world record for sustained glider flight, surpassing the previous record of two hours.
Oklahoma governor W. H. Murray known as Alfalfa Bill ordered guards to permit travel over the Durant Denison toll bridge after a federal injunction aimed at stopping interference with traffic. He defied barricades and pledged to hold the fort with guards until a parallel free bridge remained open. Representative Tom McKeown announced plans for a congressional probe into the use of federal injunctions over bridge access.
A man-made fire in Pend Oreille National Forest northeast of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, surged over 14 miles, aided by high winds. The Deer Mountain lookout station and the Smoke Chaser’s cabin were destroyed. Spot fires appeared along North and South forks and Meadow Creek as crews fought to control the blaze. Granite Creek and Sullivan Creek areas were closed to travel. Aerial patrols were sent from Spokane with seasoned fire chiefs and supplies.
In Alameda California an autogiro slammed into a row of parked cars near the Bay airfield killing Mrs. Nellie Boucher while en route to the Alameda sanitorium. Her daughter Shirley four and Louis Courtis were critically hurt as three cars were wrecked. Pilot Claude Owen twenty seven from Washington escaped injury with two passengers. Identify of other passengers could not be confirmed amid the confusion.
President Hoover will stay at his Rapidan camp in Luray Virginia through Tuesday. He remained pleased with the quiet and cool surroundings and told guests he would not leave in time to reach Washington by nine this morning as previously planned.
Butte residents track Old Man Weather on Miners field day with a 96 degree high and 59 degree low. Clouds, drizzles, hail and thunder prompt barometer checks as officials forecast unsettled, cooler conditions Monday and Tuesday. Optimists expect sun and cool breezes while pessimists anticipate brief showers.

A deaf mute claims to have seen Wagner placing the girl in his car near Fort Apache. Police cannot reconcile the deaf mute story with signs of a struggle in the ravine.
