Butte council approves 2.5 million budget

County officials seek reprieve on health department cuts

Nixon urges Asian self defense to limit U.S. role abroad

Anaconda Soldier Killed in Vietnam War
Sgt Wayland Dan Strembridge 22 of Anaconda Montana died in action in Vietnam July 19 becoming the sixth Anacondan killed in the conflict. He enlisted March 1 1968 and arrived in Vietnam a year later. Born San Francisco June 26 1947 he grew up in Anaconda and graduated from Anaconda High School in 1966. He was an avid bowler and survived by his parents four sisters a brother and extended family. Funeral arrangements are pending. He was the 185th Montanan to die in Southeast Asia.
