Hit and Run Injures Butte Man Near Mercury and Main

Fred Goldsworthy of 31 North Dakota reported he was struck by a hit and run driver at the corner of Mercury and Main around mid evening Saturday. He was unable to identify the vehicle. He was taken to James Hospital with a possible head concussion and facial injuries but left the hospital later that afternoon.

Treasure State News reports Montana highway fatalities rose last month with 14 deaths across nine accidents. The Patrol notes drivers were mostly men, crashes often on dry blacktop roads, four blamed on wrong way driving, one on excessive speed, and one on other violations.

Anton Mufflon of Butte died Sunday afternoon while fishing at a stream. initial belief of drowning gave way to heart attack as the cause. He lived in Butte for 50 years and worked at the West Colusa mine as a miner. Burglars struck the Walkerville bar at 1518 North Main in Silver Bay Sunday morning, taking about 160 dollars from a cash register and a drawer with tips. Donald Woolridge, 66, of Tash Montana avenue Kale ts pel, was in critical condition Sunday night at Kale ts pel General hospital from a 22 caliber rifle wound to the abdomen from an unexplained source. Police say an unidentified woman called the station around 3 p.m. describing the incident, but she spoke incoherently. Officers arrived to find Woolridge unconscious in the home’s marine room. details of the case were not immediately available.
