Helena Montana July 26 No state fund was overdrawn on the first day of the current fiscal year and the state held a balance near eight million dollars. State Treasurer Ray N Shannon announced the July 1 total of 6 921 721 36 up more than 200 000 from June 1 8 195 150 45 Cash receipts for the month were 3 448 735 74 and disbursements 2 232 254 63 The general fund balance at June 1 was 399 949 03 as receipts and transfers boosted the total for the new year Major balances included educational sinking 343 780 61 fish and game 105 493 20 and highway commissions 844 320 84. Helena Montana July 28 A balance of 18 023 250 93 was on hand in state investment accounts at the start of the new fiscal year with the common school permanent fund leading at 14 703 289 35 Other major totals included Agricultural permanent 84 , 332 41 and State University Permanent 467 072 19.
