Montana considers regulation for non profit health plans

British army pins down IRA hideouts after raids in Belfast
In Northern Ireland on Monday the British army seized more than 1,000 pounds of explosives and 19 weapons after raids on IRA hideouts. The force also recovered 2,000 rounds of ammunition and bomb making gear as part of the crackdown following a weekend of bombings and shootings that killed 16 people, raising three year casualties to 471. William Whitelaw reported to London’s House of Commons about the campaign to root out the IRA and destroy its capacity for violence.

Tragic Drowning Of Two Year Old In Anaconda Creek
A two year old girl named Shielia Ann Calder drowned while playing with siblings along Warm Springs Creek on Anaconda's north side. Her body was found about three hours later downstream near a culvert and brought to Community Hospital. Neighbors police and Deer Lodge County patrol assisted in the search following the fall into the shallow stream around 11 o'clock.

Ramada Inn on Butte South Side Robbed
Two unknown men robbed the Ramada Inn on Butte's South Side early Monday taking 4775 in cash checks and traveler’s checks. Frank and Mrs Bryan on duty at the motel were tied and forced to lie on the floor after the suspects leaped the counter and demanded a room. The incident is under sheriff investigation.

Cave-in claims life of Philipsburg worker on sewer project
Elmer Carl Swanson, 43, of Philipsburg died en route to Anaconda after being pulled from a caved ditch on the West Side during a city sewer project about 10 am Monday. He was taken to Philipsburg hospital for observation before transport. Granite County Coroner is investigating.
