Prowler Holds Butte Woman Then Abandons Car
Mrs. Alma Robuck of Butte was attacked in her home about 12:30 a.m. and held overnight as a hostage in a car until around 6 a.m. A logger found her six miles west of the Bernice turnoff on U.S. 91. Warden E. C. Ellsworth Jr. said the suspect is an escaped convict. positive ID was not possible.

Manhunt ends as Jacob y caught after three day chase
Richard Jacoby a 58 year old sheepherder accused of murdering fellow worker Petral Cody was found after a mountain ridge chase near Monida in Centennial Valley. He was arraigned on a first degree murder charge and jailed in Beaverhead County with a 20000 dollar bond. A large search including deputies patrol and a plane aided the arrest.

Two-Car Crash Kills Pete Felde in Montana
Pete Felde 55 of Butte dies in an eight mile west Alberton crash along Interstate 90 while riding in a car towing another vehicle. The convoy from Washington to Butte included two other men, Wayne West also killed in a separate crash. Arson Suspected in Fires at Windsor Apartments
Fire Chief Jack McCarthy reported two fires within 24 hours at Windsor Apartments 9 E Mercury with arson suspected. State Fire Marshal William Pentilla of Helena notified. Firefighters under Capt Bill Barrett battled blazes in basement stairwell and first floor. Damage included basement and smoke water damage upper floors. Fire crews worked two hours 30 minutes. Earlier Friday 3:45 am flash fires caused damage to two floors. The site was secured Friday afternoon but Saturday morning a side door was found unlocked.

Montana State Prison officials report seven of twelve escapees have been recaptured after breaking from the dormitory at Deer Lodge.
