Child skippers through Wise River tragedy headline
The 7-year-old Harey Patrick Henderson of 2514 S Main Wise River was found drowned Monday at 9 30 DST ending a search that began Sunday evening after he strayed from a family outing at a campgrounds ten miles south of Wise River His body lay two miles downstream from the camp and the stay team of about 150 volunteers aided the search A second drowning in three days occurred in the area when a 5-year old boy died in the Jefferson River near Whitehall The boy was identified as Harey Patrick Henderson born June 9 1958 in Butte He was to enter second grade this fall at Madison School He is survived by his parents a sister Nancy Leah age 3 a brother Clint James age 9 months and grandparents The body was turned over to Duggan Merrill Mortuary with Highway Patrol Capt S W Hancock leading the transcription continues on Page 3 Col 1

Body search for 5 year old boy in Jefferson River
Whitehall officials continued a river search for John Gallegos after he drowned Friday in the Jefferson River near the Kountz bridge. Deputy Sheriff Buhl appealed for volunteers as boats and divers expanded the efforts from the bridge five miles south of Whitehall to Three Forks. A memorial Mass was held Monday at Sv. Teresa Church.

Prison Trusty Walks Away From Deer Lodge Camp
A three year inmate at Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge escaped from a logging camp Monday morning and was at large by Monday night. Orville Speelman of Ashland, serving five years for burglary, began his second term January 6 and may have fled between 8 and 10 a.m. The warden called him upset by a recent divorce but said he is not dangerous. Speelman is 5 feet 10, 160 pounds with blue eyes, gray-black hair, and a scar above the left eye. He wears horn rimmed glasses, Levis with a striped pant leg, a blue denim coat, and a hickory striped shirt.
