Former Melrose Resident Killed in Glacier Park Crash
Clarence Smebakken aged 29 former Melrose resident died after a July 10 automobile crash in Glacier National Park. He died three days later in a park hospital and was returned to Lemmon South Dakota for burial. He worked as a truck driver for Lawler Corporation on a park highway project. Survived by widow Leona Slater of Melrose, mother Mrs. George Jorgenson, four brothers and four sisters, all of Lemmon.
