James Goodwin Hall, famed ex Army flyer and New York broker, set a new NYC Havana record today flying the monoplane Crusader from Roosevelt Field to Camp Columbia in 8 hours 40 minutes. He took off early this morning and planned a refuel and return trip to New York. The flight path ran along the eastern coast to Miami and over Key West into Cuba. The Crusader is a low wing craft with a 200 mph speed range, a variable pitch propeller and folding wheels for speed.

In Seneca Falls New York July 18 hundreds visited the Campese home to see a pure white dove that entered Thursday as Edward Campese 19 lay dying and later watched over his body for hours. The dove dubbed the dove of peace perched on the bed rail and pillow and remained through the undertaker's visit as the youth died after an eight week illness. The origin of the bird remains a mystery with no identification mark found.
