A Range rider wounded a man during a week of terror titled Terror Reign in Wyoming. The assailant fled into wooded country after being pursued for miles by the wounded man, amid a labor rivalry and conciliation efforts failing at home.
In Wyoming's Laramie peaks a masked rider shot rancher Charles Adams, 20, at his Albany county home 35 miles west of Wheatland. Adams chased the gunman before returning home to be treated for a shoulder wound. Posses scoured the woods as authorities linked the attack to a series of cattle thefts.
Helena July 18. Leonard Young incumbent leads Ethel Marcum Bielenberg for the Republican railroad commissioner nomination by 24 votes with 25 precincts unreported. In 1,493 precincts Young 12,911 to Bielenberg 12,887. Democratic congressman race in First district shows Evans ahead of Monaghan by 118 votes with 420 of 442 precincts reported. After more than three days of argument, the Glenn Rogers case went to a jury. Rogers, 24, is accused of killing Patrolman James Costello when officers tried to arrest him last March. Prosecutors say he shot Costello. defense argues he acted to avoid being killed.

Washington July 18 senate recessed to resume debate on the London naval treaty after a 12 hour day. Night session began with treaty advocates pushing to exhaust opposition who refused to agree on discussion limits. Fewer than a dozen opponents remained to speak as votes potential by tomorrow night to next Tuesday. Senators Moses of New Hampshire and Johnson of California led the attack with more than 60 others watching the showdown.
