Hail rain and scab may reduce the apple harvest to 234000 bushels, 4000 less than a year ago. Poor pollination lowers sour cherry to 1820000 pounds, 100000 pounds less than last year. Hail and rain retard tart cherry, possibly 2240000 pounds, about 140000 pounds under 1947.

Youngster Hit by Car Suffers Broken Legs
Bobbie Dale Erwin, 18, sustained compound fractures of both legs when struck by an automobile in the State College housing area.
