Mob Drives Out Negro Families From Erick After Vigilante Death
About 200 to 300 men formed a mob last night in Erick Oklahoma after the death of Mrs. Henry Vaughan near Shamrock Texas. The mob sent roughly 25 black families from Erick and surrounding areas, gathering on Main Street at 11 p.m. They warned Erick residents to evacuate their homes as they departed with a few possessions. Marshal J. L. Crane reported the scene and actions taken by the crowd.

Margaret Downey 90, of 1019 West Porphyry street, died yesterday at St. James hospital from a skull fracture suffered when she reportedly slipped and fell on stairs near her home Saturday. Born in Ireland, she moved to Butte in 1893 and lived with Mr. and Mrs. W. F. O'Brien for 12 years. She is survived by a sister-in-law, several nephews and nieces, and cousins in the East.
