Helena AP report says former Lt. Gov Paul Cannon did not resign as field supervisor before 5 p.m. Monday, triggering a firing by the Montana Railroad and Public Service Commission. The decision came after Cannon filed for the Democratic nomination to a two year seat and amid party harmony concerns. Cannon had held the $7 000 a year post since June 1964.
