A Black Washington educator Lemuel A. Penn was shot in his car on Georgia 172 near Colbert. President Johnson contacted Georgia Governor Sanders seeking federal state cooperation, and Attorney General Kennedy ordered the FBI into the case. Highway Crash Kills Montanan Near Harlowton

Two Coast Bridge Experts Lead In Intermountain Tourney
Evan Erdos and Hermine Barron of Los Angeles will compete in Butte for the Intermountain Red Point Bridge Tournament at the Finlen Hotel. Butte Woman Stabbed in Bar. Suspect Arrested
Audrey Pitkanen 27 of 747 North Main was in a Butte hospital after an early morning stabbing at Club Inn on South Main. Police arrested Erasto Medina at 2 45 am after witnesses said a man returned to talk to her and stabbed her in the chest. A bloody shirt and scissors were found in Medina's car. Investigating officers named.
