Man Woman Found Shot Death on Montana Ranch
HOT SPRINGS Mont Sheriff Wally Britton says a man and woman were killed in an apparent murder suicide on a Camas Prairie ranch about 15 miles southeast of Hot Springs in northwestern Montana. James Bowman about 45 and Mrs Margaret McDonald Howes about 41 died from gunshot wounds in a case now under FBI and Indian Service investigation.

Lightning Kills Youth Near Lima in Canyon
An 18 year old ranch hand Clarence Cunningham of Princeton Missouri was struck dead by lightning five miles northwest of Lima while placing salt blocks on a summer range. His companion Ralph Quigley survived a third lightning strike in as many attempts, though he was stunned and injured. Quigley rode to help and Cunningham’s body was recovered by Sheriff John McDonald. Cunningham’s parents and a sibling were at the Garr Ranch.
