The board awarded multiple contracts totaling 87004 for plumbing heating electrical and painting work on four campus buildings. Reardon Plumbing and Heating won 18600 for plumbing and heating. La Sages Insurance Butte 1526 for electrical installation. Eilla Paint Co Inc Butte 1357 for painting. Work includes reinforcing the main hall foundation upgrading lab piping and attic wiring and a new copper deck on the metallurgical building front. Repairs to the gymnasium roof coppering and asbestos shingles are planned with painting confined to the metallurgical hall.

US Agents Seize Slot Machines Liquor From Club
GHEAT FALLS July 8 Seven slot machines a case of port wine and several cases of whisky were seized by the Treasury department from the Stockmen's club for alleged non payment of 4141.01 in employment and withholding taxes. The gambling devices and liquor will be sold publicly on July 26 at 2 pm at the Internal Revenue office unless the taxes are paid by the club and L B U DePrata president.

Glass Heart Found In Courthouse Wreckage Near Custer County
A glass jar containing a human heart was uncovered by a wrecking crew at the Custer county courthouse in Miles City. The heart belonged to A. J. Caylor of Hamilton Pennsylvania, who was fatally stabbed on May 27, 1917. A jury later found Frank Jordan of Powder River valley guilty of second degree murder on Oct. 9, 1917. Oldtimers recall the heart being used as evidence showing the knife wound.
