Inquest Set Into Death Of Greek Miner Zaros
An inquest into Nick Zaros a 54 year old Greek miner fatally wounded in a fight will be held at 2 P M Tuesday Coroner Don Sheehy announced. Theodore A Liguras 57 of 252 East Park Street is held in the county jail facing a probable murder charge. Liguras admitted firing one shot during the incident saying he did not remember if more than one shot was fired. The pistol fired three times according to county attorney Frank J Roe. Authorities arrested Liguras about 15 hours after the shooting at Silver and Wyoming streets. The gun reportedly discharged three times with two bullets hitting Zaros and a third stopped by a watch in the victim pocket.

Lottery for Newly Registered Men To Be Held July 17

Child Critically Hurt by Auto in City Alley
Catherine Sanders a 2 year old daughter of Mr and Mrs W F Sanders living at 1548 Phillips street was critically injured when struck by a car driven by Jack Clark of 1119 Fast Second street at the mouth of the alley between Phillips and Harrison avenues near Dundee street. Clark says the child ran into the path of the car and he could not avoid the impact. The child was taken to Murray hospital in very precarious condition with a scalp injury and possible skull fracture. Clark was booked for reckless driving and released on own recognizance.
