France officially denounced its medi terr Mediterranean mutual assistance agreement with Great Britain. Paris informed London and Rome that it would suspend the pact as sanctions were lifted. The move seeks Italian participation in Locarno talks at Brussels and Dardanelles discussions at Montreux.
London dispatch says France disavows the mutual assistance pact in the Mediterranean causing surprise among government supporters. News followed Britain's announced naval strength reductions in the same region with no official Whitehall comment. Parliament members reacted with uncertainty as details remained unclear.
Two men who robbed the Scott State bank at Bethany of 1090 dollars were killed by eight officers led by Sheriff Emery Throwell on a dairy farm southeast of Decatur. C. D. Hinds of Decatur was wounded in the jaw but not seriously. Robbers’ identities were not immediately known.
Washington July 9 A forecast of a record popular vote in the November presidential election was issued by William Tyler Page minority clerk of the House who tracks ballot totals. He predicted 3 000 000 to 5 000 000 more ballots than 1932 lifting totals to about 43 000 000 or 45 000 000. Simon Michelet head of the Get Out the Vote club projected 41 000 000 to 42 000 000 voters. Page noted the number eligible to vote would continue to rise.
Brother Albert, president of St Marys College of California the Galloping Gaels, touring Butte at the homes of James T Finlen Sr. and Jr. He says he is sold on Butte and will consider a Gaels game here after athletic committee invites the team.

One hundred fifty Kuomintang stalwarts from across China attend to authorize a campaign against the insurgent southwestern province. The government seeks a swift war response as talks with Kwangsi fail.

J Bruce Kremer former Democratic national committeeman and party leader arrives in Butte with Mrs Kremer from Washington and plans a three week stay. He says Roosevelt will win by a large majority and praises admin progress while noting his family remains local Butte people.
Alice Jane Myers Lear, widow of early pastor Rev. William D. Lear, died Tuesday night at 75 after years as an invalid. She was born September 6, 1860 near Edinburg Missouri, oldest of six children, married February 11, 1879, and lived 50 years in Corvallis United Church area before funeral held this morning.
The Mining Association of Montana will hold its annual meeting in the Chamber of Commerce rooms at Butte on July 17 and 18. Officers Trauberman Bacorn Gilbert Thomson announce the program centers on small operators, especially those mining gold and silver ores, with a concurrent machinery exhibit.
