Deaths from friendly fire in Montana frontier town
In Forsyth Montana two 17 year old youths Walter Swart and Ray Althoff were shot by a 10 year old in a frightened ranch home incident. Swart died and Althoff was critically wounded after approaching the door for water. The shooter Charles Caekaert reportedly fired through a window when Swart looked outside. The coroner said the inquest will be held and noted the event involved neighbors in the Cartersville irrigation district near Cartersville. Both victims were sons of prominent ranching families.
