MacHaffie Site in Montana A Noted Yet Mysterious Find
Montana archaeologist Patrick Rennie reexamines the MacHaffie site near Helena, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. He cites lost and contradictory records, a 1900s horse skull with an iron band and glass, and questions why the site was used to quarry rock rather than as a campsite. Rennie has spent over two thousand hours across five years studying the resource.
