Miners Vote Sunday on Referendum on Company Wage Offer
Butte Miners Union No 1 will hold a Sunday meeting at likely the Butte Civic Center to decide if a referendum on The Anaconda Company's wage offer of 10 cents an hour, 80 cents per day, will be held. The motion for the special session passed Wednesday night to allow both shifts to vote on referencing the offer for settlement. The Anaconda Company made the offer June 16 and extended it June 28, with Tuesday’s announcement indicating it could still be accepted as the basis for a settlement.

Auto accident claims life of Carl Polson near Butte
Carl Polson, 63, of 1331 Utah Avenue, died after a head on crash on U S Highway 10 near Thompson Park. Willard Efau, 45, Boulder organist, remained in critical condition with deep facial injuries. Polson died on arrival at Community Memorial Hospital at 7 15 a m. Efau, also known as Willard, underwent surgery to improve survival chances.
