The London based exiled Polish government urged 250000 Poles in the armed forces abroad to stay loyal and back its claim to speak for the nation. It challenged plans to allow Poles abroad to choose between returning home or serving under the British flag. The regime refuses to surrender authority until free elections in Poland.
