Saigon Hit by Rockets as Enemy Pushes Attacks
Enemy gunner raids intensified overnight across South Vietnam with four allied sites shelled and casualties reported at several locations. A 122mm rocket hit Saigon's 9th Precinct while a 400–500 pound Viet Cong mine sank the civilian ship SS Welfare in the Saigon River injuring two of 29 Chinese crew. The U.S. 1st Infantry Division base at Lai Khe endured three barrages breaking a recent lull.

Aspen Quakes As Dynamite Strikes Prompt Curfew
Rain gave relief in Aspen after a night of tension as Pitkin County called in state and nearby sheriff forces to patrol streets. Sheriff Whitemire issued a 1030 p.m. plea following a dynamite blast that damaged a trash truck and several other blasts were reported. District Attorney Dumont imposed a 2 a.m. curfew after arriving from Glenwood Springs. Youth counts were estimated at 300 to 500 Friday night, later revised to about 200 Saturday afternoon.

Storm claims life of Dillon boy in Clark Canyon drownings
Dale Stathen 10 died when a small boat overturned in Clark Canyon Reservoir during a sudden storm. His father Charles D.
