Auto Accident Is Fatal to Butte Man
Brush Beckwith 66 a prominent Butte resident was killed when his car left a highway west of Drummond and plunged over a 15 foot embankment. Howard Noble survived and was treated at the Elks lodge in Butte. Beckwith, long active in Elks circles, worked for American Crystal Sugar and is survived by a son, two daughters, a sister, a brother, and several grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were set for Tuesday at the Elks temple.

Delegates and visitors to the fortieth annual Montana State Elks convention left Butte Sunday after a grand finale ending the three day session. The Billings drum and bugle corps won the state contest and Kalispell and Anaconda followed. Butte did not compete in the state drill but gave an exhibition. A total of 1 284 Elks attended the war time gathering as the President's ball closed the meeting.
