Winston Salem July 6 Smith Reynolds 21 heir to the Reynolds tobacco estate died at 5 25 am from a personal safety related gun wound. He was said to be cleaning a gun when the shot rang out. Reynolds recently quit Broadway night life to study for an aeronautical exam and had married Libby Holman. Coroner Dr W N Dalton said autopsy would take two to three days to determine if death was by act of self or accident. Mrs Reynolds was in a nearby room but not present at the time.

Lone Bandit Robs Bank At Bridger
A lone bandit, about 25, in a light brown suit and straw hat, robbed the American National Bank in Bridger Montana at noon and escaped with about $1000. He ordered cashier Olga Campbell to the floor, shaking as he took the cash, then fled in a small coupe toward Wyoming. Authorities check an orange license plate and northern Wyoming authorities were asked to watch for him.

Deranged father battles police in two hour siege
