Washington July 3 UPI Joseph P Kennedy head of the new stock market control commission warned that cards are stacked toward those in power and pledged full protection for small investors. He said speculators must shift for themselves and that the control bill poses no threat to honest traders.
Agreement limits from Washington 1922 and London 1928 expire December 31, 1936. Renewal hinges on Japan’s stance to a navy equal to Britain and the United States. Britain's desire for many small ships faces U.S. push for fewer large vessels amid France Italy Mediterranean disputes and possible German requests.

Rapid City South Dakota July 3 The National Geographic Society announced that a 27 story high hydrogen filled balloon will be prepared for a dawn take off after July 9 weather permitting The gondola carries two U S officers Maj William Kepner and Capt Albert Stevens with Missus Tom Berry wife of the governor christening the craft The test flight planned for July 7 will seal the gondola for 12 hours followed by final checks July 8 9 before inflation of the 3 000 000 cubic foot bag and launch preparations The craft aims to reach 15 miles above earth the highest attempt of its kind to date
The Butte city treasury reports a June balance of 150 297 77 in all administration funds and 187 004 87 in city and trust funds. June disbursements totaled 6 840 15, nearly emptying the library fund now under 500, and weakening the general fund. General fund paid 17 603 balance 12 942 11. Road and street 5 399 36. Parks and playgrounds 171 28, balance 2 543 09. Library fund 3 514 44.
Floyd Dell Wilson aged 26 a Jefferson county rancher and new bridegroom was shot to death in a Boulder barroom yesterday afternoon. James H. Ping 55 a sheepman trapper and marksman surrendered and is held. Witness Sam McCarthy described a barroom quarrel that ended in Wilson's death by a gunshot. Coroner's jury ruled Wilson died from a gun wound and did not recommend. Ping traveled from Manhattan to Boulder and had recent ties to local sheep herds. The case remains under Jefferson county jail custody.
President Roosevelt sails aboard the U S S Houston during a Caribbean Pacific vacation cruise reading wireless dispatches on German political developments. The ship, headed to Cap Haitien Haiti, plans Independence Day ceremonies and a fishing stop off Long Island Bahamas weather permitting.
Paris report says Mme Marie Currie, co discoverer of radium, died early this morning at a sanitarium in Valence after a prolonged illness. The obituary notes her pioneering work in radioactivity and her leadership in science.
