Butte Derby Crowds Fish At Homestake Lake For Prizes
About 500 children fished at Homestake Lake in Montana for the first annual derby hosted by the Butte Police Protective Association. Roughly 150 fish were caught with rainbow trout sizes from 10 to 13 inches. Timmy Chopp, 8, won largest fish at 135 inches and top in the 8 to 10 age group. Winners spanned multiple ages for both boys and girls, with officers and Game Warden Garth Haugland overseeing the event and about 700 hot dogs served to participants.
