Death Summons Sam Haidin 84 in Butte
Sam Haidin 84 of 2214 Cottonwood died Tuesday after a brief illness in a local hospital. A Yugoslavian native who came to Butte in 1901 with his wife Amelia, he worked 50 years as a miner and station tender for the Anaconda Co at Colusa mine and retired 14 years ago. He was active in Serbian Orthodox and Croatian groups and is survived by six daughters and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services set for White's Funeral Home with burial at Mountain View Cemetery.

Orville Turnbaugh of the National Labor Relations Board Seattle regional office announced an extra voting period from 4 to 6 this afternoon at the Anaconda pay office for those unable to vote during the 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. period.
