Two unmasked men overpowered a bartender and an unidentified patron, cleaned the till of nearly $50, and fled. Julius Santora, 21, and Tom Shields, 25, were arrested later and booked on robbery charges after victims identified them. Santora was captured after a chase.
The federal Farm Board will cap government owned wheat sales for the coming fiscal year at 60 million bushels excluding sales to foreign governments. Chairman James C. Stone announced the decision after a day of meetings with President Hoover, stating the action aligns with Hoover’s policy.
