Wind damage to farmland rises across Great Plains in 1975
The Agriculture Department reports wind damaged 1,035,000 acres in 10 states from Nov to Dec, up from 411,950 a year earlier, with 10.3 million more acres at risk in 335 counties. Montana suffered 216,734 acres damaged, while Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Wyoming and other Great Plains states also reported losses.

Runners up were Jean Strizich first, Melva Crabtree second, Janet Kuntz third, and Leslie Miller fourth among 16 contestants. Francine Ginsberg was named Miss Congeniality. Gracia will reign at Invest activities and represent Anaconda in the 1976 Miss Montana pageant.
