Fire destroys Butte furniture warehouse in frigid blaze
A two story Town and Country Furniture and Appliance warehouse at 426 East Front Street in Butte burned fiercely early Tuesday. Firemen responded at 3 02 from Quartz Street station as flames lashed the building. No injuries reported. Damages estimated at 150000 to 200000 with much inventory destroyed. Investigators consider heaters used to ward off sub zero temperatures as possible ignition source. The warehouse had recently been acquired with the adjacent paper firm used since 1920.
