Grizzlies 10 to play Montana in Butte next fall

Flood relief looming as 200000 may join federal rolls
Washington January 28 two hundred thousand people perhaps more if the Mississippi levees fail may go on federal relief in the wake of the flood. A plan for an extra 50000 relief cases has been outlined with four persons per case. Army engineers expect the dykes to hold. The War department prepared to evacuate 500000 MississippI low lands if needed. The Red Cross has $2831371 raised toward a 10 million goal.

Flood relief drive tops local Red Cross efforts
Voluntary contributions for flood relief stood at $6,000 last night as the Butts chapter of the American Red Cross led in speed and readiness to respond to urgent appeals from the Ohio and Mississippi river valleys. Bad Check Victim Captures Suspect at Park and Main
An alert clerk and victim of a bad check detained a man at Park and Main streets at 10 pm. Donald McGougan of Black Motor Co. held the suspect until Night Chief Jack Duggan arrived. The man gave the name W. H. Unger when booked, and the victim reported a $20 worthless check on a local bank.

Twenty three vessels sink in furious gale near Lisbon
