James Orton Dies at Wheel of Auto Pioneer of State
James M. Orton aged 63, a longtime Butte resident and founder of the Orton Bros Music Co, died last night in Los Angeles after a heart attack while driving with his wife Mrs. Orton. Survived by his widow, daughter Virginia (Mrs Joel Rickman), brother Will C Orton, and several nieces and nephews. Born June 15, 1866 in Virginia City, he helped form a brass and string band with six Orton brothers and held state skating titles. he moved to Los Angeles about a decade ago.

Eight Year Old Boy Injured in Coasting Accident
