Montana cold claims Helena infant amid broad winter toll

Sparks warns of losing federal aid for Metro Sewer plant
County Board Chairman Robert W. Sparks said 634,864 dollars in federal aid for the Metro Sewer treatment plant may be cut if the legislature fails to pass adequate legislation to let the district operate the plant. The 1,269,728 dollar project should be finished by July 1, with no maintenance funds yet allocated, Sparks noted. He argued continued federal funds depend on the district's demonstrated ability to maintain the facility, as current assessments of five dollars per unit for district maintenance and three dollars for plant maintenance would need raises to eight dollars each.

Legislators to Attend Services for Sen Leonard Vainio
