More than 60,000 mourners from Britain and abroad filed past the flag draped bier in Westminster Hall to honor Sir Winston Churchill. Prime Minister Harold Wilson and Lord Alexander attended. Earl Mountbatten and Lord Attlee were among pallbearers for Saturday's ceremonies. The vigil featured the traditional royalist pageantry as candles lit the catafalque diffracted through a Gothic window. The guard changes every 20 minutes during the three day lying in state.

A Spencer Idaho collision killed 67 year old rancher Charles Brenner from near Wisdom Montana. Four Viscount Saskatchewan residents were injured when a northbound Brenner vehicle collided head on with a southbound car four miles north of Spencer. A C Pratt Dies at 90 Pioneer in Montana Hydroelectric Development
Arthur C. Pratt aged 90 former Montana Power Co engineer died Tuesday at his home in Butte after a lengthy illness. A veteran of the Spanish American War he helped build Canyon Ferry and aided in Hauser Holter and Ryan hydroelectric plants on the Missouri River. Pratt also contributed to electrifying the Milwaukee Railroad line in Montana and the Thompson Falls Project on the Clark Fork.
