Montana eyes 30M plan to overhaul state health facilities
Montana Gov. Gianforte's administration studies moving a 12 bed developmental disability unit from Boulder, adding a step down facility at Shodair in Helena, and upgrading Montana State Hospital in Warm Springs. The plan aims to improve services, readiness for community life, and federal certification efforts. The package totals about 32.5 million from a 300 million behavioral health fund. Senator Dave Fern notes the goal of moving people responsibly between state facilities to build capacity.
