Murder Charge Is Filed in Court in Denver Case
Mrs. Fannie Brown Stabler, 37, was charged with murder in a district court information filed Saturday. The charge stems from the stabbing of John Thomas Levi, 49, a noted Indian athlete of the 1920s, who died from his wounds after being removed from Mrs. Stabler’s hotel room. Three Major Highway Projects Completed In 1945 In Silver Bow
County Surveyor Jack Healy reports three major highway projects finished in 1945 despite material shortages and a budget $23,581.01 below the 1941 prewar level. The last half of 1945 saw elimination of the county’s three most hazardous curves, two on North Main and Anaconda Road, with 4,600 cubic yards moved for two jobs and 700 cubic yards for the third. The North Main project is oiled. Anaconda Road will be completed in 1946 and oiled next season. The county avoided new road taxes, relying on vehicle license plate fees, with revenue shrinking to 73 percent of the 1941–42 budget.
