Dayton Ohio January 26 AP Lieutenant J B Haddon of Wright Field survived a burning pursuit plane crash near New Carlisle by parachute. Fire started at 3000 feet after a connecting rod allegedly broke in the supercharged engine. Haddon leaped as flames enveloped the craft, his chute opened immediately and the plane crashed half a mile away.
