Silver Bow Readiness Center Opens Near Butte With 100 Soldiers
The 50 000 square foot Silver Bow Readiness Center in the Montana Connections park west of Butte opens to the public after two years of planning and construction. The $34 million facility hosts more than 100 soldiers from three units including the 1889th Regional Support Group and 103rd Public, with environmentally friendly features such as solar panels and in floor radiant heat.

In the House Taxation Committee Rep George Nikolakakos called a property tax bill probably the most important piece this session as three major proposals get hearings. Rep Llew Jones champions HB 231 to cut taxes on primary residences and long term rentals while boosting short term rentals and second homes taxes to cover lost revenue. Gianforte backs the plan citing out of state homeowners’ lack of income tax and tourism growth. Critics from the Montana Chamber of Commerce warn it would raise taxes and oppose it in good conscience.

Montana Republicans push Northern Montana Water Security Act
