The American Metal Climax Foundation establishes The Donald W. McGlashan Fellowship in Mineral Dressing at Montana School of Mines to honor Prof. Donald W. McGlashan for his contributions to mineral science. The $4,000 award for 1964-1965 supports graduates in mineral dressing engineering with renewal possible for two more years.

Montana Toll Reaches 10 With Two More Deaths
A two truck crash near Miles City claims its second victim and a tractor death near Huntley raises Montana’s road toll to ten. The Huntley area rancher Ernest Krum, 28, died when his tractor wheel passed over his chest after he left the road. Police said the crash occurred about 2 18 a m Friday on a county road. Slater, 41, of Miles City died from injuries Friday after a semitrailer loaded with hogs collided with a highway truck on U S 212 eight miles south of Miles City in snowy conditions. The driver of the state truck, Donald Slater, died at the scene. another driver, Gerald F Williams, died in the 10 a m crash. Survivors include Krum’s parents and siblings.

Echo 2, a 135 foot diameter balloon, launched from Vandenberg AFB, is the largest artificial moonlet.
